I’ve been to Ait Benhaddou numerous times (I always bring family and friends who are visiting Morocco here) and it’s a place I really love.

But I think its real magic is experienced in the early morning hours and the late afternoon when the day-tripping crowds dissipate each day.

A serene atmosphere descends upon the narrow alleys and earthen buildings, making this an ideal time to leisurely wander this historic gem. 

To fully capitalise on these incredible moments and the gorgeous golden hour photography light, staying overnight in Ait Benhaddou is essential.

Thankfully, there are an increasing number of charming hotels in Ait Benhaddou to choose, ranging from intimate guesthouses to boutique stays. Many feature onsite restaurants, swimming pools and sprawling terraces where you can soak up the Atlas Mountains views.
