Tips for selecting a luxury hotel in Rabat

When searching for a luxury hotel in Rabat, different properties will appeal to different travellers. While some are located within walking distance of the historic medina (or within the medina itself), others are positioned on the nearby coastline or in the surrounding countryside.

Look for property’s with high-end amenities, such as wellness centres, fine dining restaurants and swimming pools. Consider what facilities are important to you and prioritise these when searching for your ideal luxury Rabat hotel. If necessary, you can filter search results to only show properties with “X”.

Read reviews from past guests to get first-hand insights into the quality of the rooms, restaurants and other facilities, ensuring they live up to expectations. By scouring reviews, you’ll find a wealth of information not necessarily disclosed on the property’s website.

Top tip:

Rabat is a popular destination for business travellers, so seasonal variations in visitor numbers may be different to holiday periods. It’s best to book your luxury Rabat hotel well in advance, even if you’re travelling in the so-called “off-season”, as conferences and conventions may unexpectedly increase demand.

Also, it’s important to remember that every hotel in Rabat (luxury or otherwise), charges a government-required tourist tax that’s payable at the property. This fee is in addition to the nightly room rate and is typically settled during check-in or check-out. This small charge is applicable for each person, per night, with the exception of children who are under 12 years old.

If you want all-out opulence and money isn’t an issue, the Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr is widely regarded as the most luxurious hotels in Rabat. Golfers may prefer The Ritz-Carlton Rabat, Dar Es Salam, which boasts a scenic championship golf course on its sprawling grounds.

If you prefer a beachfront setting, consider the Conrad Rabat Arzana. It provides direct access to the Atlantic Ocean, along with high-end accommodations and a full-service spa.

Those who want to be in the heart of all the action should consider the stylish Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Sale. It overlooks the Bou Regreg River within walking distance of the Kasbah of the Oudaias.

Eco-conscious travellers will appreciate the sustainable practices and green design of STORY Rabat Boutique Hotel & Spa, which is located in Rabat’s upscale Ambassadors district. If you’re a nature lover or a green thumb, then the Sofitel Rabat Jardin des Roses may appeal with its artfully landscaped gardens.

For a 5-star stay, the Rabat Marriott Hotel features all the bells and whistles, including an on-site spa with a hammam.

About Me

I’m Malika, a global traveller who first visited Morocco in 2014 before marrying a local and settling down in a little village on the Atlantic coast. Over the years, I’ve developed an intense love for Morocco, its incredible landscapes, storied cities and the exceptionally generous hospitality of its people.

Malika in Morocco is a place to share my years of experience exploring the country, from north to south and from the Atlantic Ocean to the Sahara Desert. As a resource for travellers visiting Morocco, I want to encourage others to experience this captivating destination the way they desire, whether that’s independently or under the expert guidance of local tour operators.

I believe strongly in supporting responsible and sustainable tourism initiatives while inspiring travel experiences that are life-impacting and mutually beneficial for both travellers and locals.
