Tips for finding the best hotel in Tetouan

When searching for the best hotels in Tetouan, it’s important to do your research and consider several factors to ensure a memorable stay.

Start by determining your budget and the type of experience you want. Perhaps it’s a luxurious resort along the coast or a budget-friendly riad in the heart of the medina. Many of Tetouan’s hotels and riads fall in the mid-range bracket. You really don’t have to spend a lot to find a comfortable stay in the city.

If you find a property you like, research online reviews and ratings from previous guests to gauge the quality of service and amenities offered. Did the property live up to expectations and what really stood out during their stay?

Pay particular attention to the hotel’s location. Is it set within the medina, on its edge or a short drive away? Being within walking distance of Tetouan’s historical attractions and museums will mean you don’t have to rely on public transport to get around.

Keep in mind the Tetouan medina is car-free. So you may not be able to drop your bags directly at the front door on arrival. I’d recommend downloading Google Maps to help you navigate from the taxi drop-off point to your hotel/riad or ask the property to send someone to meet you there.

Before booking, be sure to research the unique features and amenities of the hotel, such as on-site dining options or wellness facilities (I love a hammam!).

Lastly, remember that all Tetouan hotels are mandated to collected a government tourist tax. This is in addition to the nightly rate and usually paid at check-in or check-out.
