While I love visiting Fes, I find it hard to do a full day of exploration in the summertime. The heat completely wears me down.

If you’re thinking about staying within the medina, be aware that it’s a pedestrian-only zone. You won’t be able to drive up to the door and drop off your luggage.

However, there are several secure parking areas (with attendants on duty) close to the medina gates (“babs”). These are a safer alternative to leaving your Fes rental car on the street.
