The weather in Agadir in September is ideal for a late summer holiday, with consistently warm and sunny conditions. The daytime temperatures hover around 28°C (82°F), perfect for relaxing on the beach and participating in water sports.
Evenings remain comfortable, with temperatures dipping to around 18°C (64°F). A light sweater or jacket is all you need for alfresco dining or evening strolls along the promenade.
With the Atlantic waters around 23°C (73°F), there’s no excuse not to take a dip or simply splash in the shallows. There’s a 74% chance of clear blue skies on any given day and rainfall is virtually nonexistent if you’re visiting Agadir in September.
Basically, it’s an incredible time to visit for outdoor activities! Just remember to pack your sunglasses, hat and sunscreen. The Moroccan sun can still be quite strong at this time of year.

Agadir’s beachfront promenade is lively from early morning until late at night, with plenty of restaurants and cafes where you can people-watch. If you’re planning a holiday to Agadir in September, it’s a good idea to book your hotel or resort well in advance. They can fill up pretty quickly, particularly at the start of the month.
Top tip:
As September can be warm, I’d recommend finding an Agadir hotel with a swimming pool where you can relax if the beach gets too busy. It’s also a great place to escape to if the wind picks up – sand flying in your face is never fun!
What’s on in Agadir in September
September tends to be a quiet month in Agadir when it comes to large-scale events. At the time of writing, there were no major festivities on the calendar.
But that doesn’t mean there aren’t pop-up exhibitions and live music nights happening. You just have to keep an eye out for posters or ask the staff at your hotel/resort.
Many of Agadir’s all-inclusive resorts host nightly entertainment, which can be enjoyed by guests and anyone dining at their restaurants.

Best things to do in Agadir in September
Visiting Agadir in September is all about soaking up the sun at the beach and playing in the Atlantic Ocean. And honestly, who could blame you if you decided to stay there the entire time? You can rent an umbrella and lounge chair for a laid-back day on the sand or simply relax in a cabana by your resort’s pool.
As September is the tail end of the summer season, the ocean is the warmest it gets in this part of the world. Although being the Atlantic, it’s not overly “tropical”.
If lounging all day isn’t your thing, you’ll find a bunch of exciting water sports available. These include everything from jet skiing to boat trips and surfing lessons.
Agadir is just a stone’s throw away from some of the best surf spots in Morocco. Most are located around the village of Taghazout (about a 30-minute drive north). During September, the conditions are perfect for beginners and intermediates, as the winter swells are yet to arrive.
Top tip:
To really up your surfing game, I suggest booking a stay at one of the surf camps or hostels in the area. You’ll not only benefit from expert local guidance and be taken to the best breaks for your ability, but you’ll get to share the experience with like-minded people.
For panoramic views across Agadir’s coastline, I’d suggest riding the cable car to the Agadir Oufella. This historic fortress that was partially restored following the 1960 earthquake.
